37411 Caerphilly Castle is pictured passing Llangelynin on 20 May 2006 with the 1Z49 16:22 Pwllheli to Sheffield returning 'Snowdonian' railtour. This dramatic location is on the coast between Barmouth and Tywyn. To take this picture I was standing on a large bolder in the middle of nowhere with the field on the left sloping down to the Irish Sea, and the foothills of Cader Idris on the right. Typically, the sun came out a minute after the train had passed, and was out for most of the time whilst driving home afterwards! |
