On one of its last workings before being repainted into early BR green livery, 37411 The Scottish Railway Preservation Society passes Troedrhiwfuwch (between Pontlottyn and Tirphill) with the 2F34 14:15 Rhymney to Cardiff service on 16 April 2005. This location is the one open field in an otherwise slightly overgrown section of line and the clear section of line is just long enough for a train such as this. Whilst the 37s were working the line it was therefore customary to keep walking from one side of the field to the other to photograph both up and down trains. Apparently I have a reputation for taking numerous pictures in these ideal conditions - bright sun with dark clouds in the background. I can assure you it is purely down to luck and there are many times when it just doesn't happen at the right time! |
