On Sunday 22 July 2001 there was an unusual choice of traction for the 6M48 10:54 Llanwern to Lackenby steel empties. 37412 Driver John Elliott & 37415 were booked for the train, so it definitely required a trip to Claydon (near Cheltenham) for a record shot. Unfortunately this is just about the worst possible combination of extreme backlighting and a very high midday summer sun. However, I wasn't going to turn up the opportunity to photograph a pair of 37/4s on a steel train.
