At Newton St Loe, just to the west of Bath, the railways is carried on a lofty embankment high above the River Avon. On 23 October 1994, 37412 Driver John Elliott heads along the embankment with the Pathfinder Tours 1Z27 07:50 Bristol Temple Meads to Sandplace 'Pixie Returns' railtour. Originally the tour was scheduled to traverse the entire length of the Looe branch in Cornwall, but the lack of check rails on the curves saw the train only getting as far as Sandplace. |
