37416 crosses the A85 road in the centre of Crianlarich village on 12 April 2000, as it slowly pulls out of the nearby station with the 1Y11 04:50 Edinburgh (ex Euston) to Fort William ScotRail sleeper. I had intended to redo this picture in better weather, but never got around to it before the 37s were replaced on these trains by 67s. Despite the dismal weather, I particularly like this picture, with its inclusion of the impressive war memorial on the right. The sign on the lamppost is an election poster for Tony Ffinch, who won the following day's by-election, to become Conservative councillor for the Highland Ward of Stirling Council.
