With St Mary's parish church, Burry Port, in the background, 37418 East Lancashire Railway approaches Pwll on 18 July 2002 with the 1B97 13:35 Fishguard to Rhymney Wales & Borders service. At this time Wales & Borders hired three 37s from EWS, principally for Cardiff to Rhymney trains. However, on a weekday one diagram was extended to Fishguard. Pembrey & Burry Port station can just be seen in the far distance, but this would not be visible today, as Burry Port bypass now crosses the railway by the line of bushes in the background. |
