Henley-in-Arden, on the Birmingham to Stratford-on-Avon line still has a fine selection of semaphore signals. 37425 Pride of the Valleys passes through with the Pathfinder Tours 1Z37 06:26 Bristol Temple Meads to Stratford-on-Avon 'Bard'n'Birch' railtour on 17 February 2007, with classmate 37411 on the rear of the train. The preceding DMU had been stopped by the signalman waving a red flag from the signalbox window, before proceeding under caution. The assembled photographers (the footbridge was completely packed!) wondered if the same thing would happen to the 37s, resulting in some thrash as they pulled away. Unfortunately they passed through at speed under clear signals. |
