37425 approaches Pontlottyn with the 2R34 14:59 Cardiff to Rhymney service on 16 July 2005, a day which the weather forecasters promised us would be full sun. As usual they got it wrong, and many of the day's pictures were spoilt by cloud. Perfect lighting here however, with the sun just glancing across the front of the loco. 37425 was repainted into large logo livery in 2005 to mark the end of loco haulage in the Welsh Valleys. We are obviously at the half way stage in the changeover from Virgin liveried to Arriva liveried coaching stock on the Rhymney line at this point, with two of each type! |
