43002 Sir Kenneth Grange passes through Kemble station on 1 June 2019 with the GWR 1Z24 13:49 Carmarthen to Paddington 'Flying Banana' railtour. This was part of a mammoth charity tour to celebrate 43 years of Britain's most successful ever train. Although they will live on as shorter sets on the former Western Region, this train is the final full length HST set to operate on the Western. Although HSTs have been a regular sight at Kemble for virtually all of their 43 years, this is the first time that I have seen one go through the station non-stop, at full line speed.
