43003 approaches Circourt Bridge, Denchworth, on Sunday 20 February 1994 with the 12:30 Paddington to Swansea InterCity service. This was a time of transition at this location. The relief lines had just been installed, and while the down line was in use, the up line had yet to be commissioned. Also new at this time was the Denchworth road bridge in the background, along with the adjacent signal gantry. 43003 was not quite so new, although being just 18 years old, it was still only a short way into its very long career.
