43006 passes Challow's long disused platforms on 20 October 1979 with the 1A01 08:05 Swansea to Paddington InterCity service. Note the old Langford & Sons coal office in the background. Photography from locations such as this was perfectly normal (and of course totally safe) in the 1970s. I even remember seeing an article in one of the magazines at the time saying that old platforms like this made excellent photographic vantage points. How times change!
