43008 slowly passes Alstone on 27 August 2023 with the 1V48 08:11 Leeds to Plymouth CrossCountry service, as it prepares to come to a stand at Alstone Level Crossing. After a brief delay, the train got the 'right away' and proceeded on to Cheltenham station. This was 43008's first train as the leading power car since its recent repaint. As this was moving so slowly, it was easily possible to cross the road for a picture of 1970s liveried 43007, which was bringing up the rear.
