43034 passes the site of Ashbury Crossing, near Shrivenham on 21 April 1988 with the 11:30 Bristol Temple Meads to Paddington. The train is typical of the period, with a complete rake of original blue and grey stock, sandwiched between two new liveried power cars. Often at the time this would be the original 'executive' style colour scheme, but here we see two of the recently introduced 'InterCity Swallow' examples, which would soon come to dominate the national network. |
