I went to the footpath crossing at Gonerby Moor (between Barkston East and Allington Junctions, near Grantham) to photograph the 1S04 17:08 Skegness to Nottingham East Midlands Trains service on 25 July 2009, as it is one of the few locations where the sun is at the right angle and is free of shadows so late in the day. A large gap appeared in the clouds just before it was due and I thought there would be no problem getting the shot. However, the appointed time came and went and the sun started to sink towards a huge mass of dark cloud. Just as the lights were about to go out I heard a hoot from around the corner heralding the arrival of 43059, in the very nick of time! |
