43071 accelerates away from Wellingborough and passes Finedon Road with the 16:35 St Pancras to Nottingham service on 21 May 1989. Note the old steam shed in the background and the lines of redundant HTV hoppers being stored in the sidings. Since the picture of 43056 was taken a few years previously from the bridge just out of sight around the corner, the semaphore signalling has been replaced by colour lights, but major track rationalisation has yet to take place.
