43086 passes Milton Ernest on 4 May 1987 with the late running 07:50 Barnsley to St Pancras service. A typical formation of the period (although the coaches especially are unusually clean). Two InterCity Executive (as it was called then) liveried power cards, with a complete rake of original blue and grey stock. The repainting of the power cards was always ahead of the coaches.
