This service operates between 12 September and 21 October 2016, during the time that the Severn Tunnel is closed for engineering work in connection with the route's electfrication. Normally this would be the 1B40 13:45 Paddington to Swansea. Most trains to South Wales were diverted via Gloucester, but some such as this one, terminated at Bristol Parkway. The background of this view is still dominated by Didcot Power Station, over three years after the coal fired Didcot A plant was closed, as it was not fitted with flue gas desulphurisation equipment.
