43097 Environment Agency passes the privately preserved Bruern Signal Box on 14 February 2019, as it heads down the Evenlode Valley with the 1P31 12:09 Hereford to Paddington GWR service. This box has become quite mobile since it ceased being used by BR in November 1973. When in use it was situated on the other side of the level crossing, and after decommissioning was moved to the roadside verge, adjacent to the nearby house. It has subsequently been moved to this position, at the bottom of the house's garden, next to the line. I have a memento of its BR days, as I was given a couple of the brass signal lever plates by the last signalman in 1973.
