43110 Darlington passes the site of Finedon station on 26 September 1987 with the 07:32 Nottingham to St Pancras service. By the time I revisited this location two years later, the relief lines had been lifted. The station closed to passengers in 1940, but stayed open for freight traffic until 1964.
