43125 arrives at Charlbury station on 2 January 2018 with the 1P18 06:42 Hereford to Paddington GWR service. After having just photographed 800011 arrive with one of the first trains on the line to be worked by the new Hitachi units, I thought it worth picturing the old order, in its last few months on the route. 43125 and the first coach are in the old blue livery, while the rest of the train is in the green colour scheme, not that you can tell in the atrocious light! I particularly like the way the lights underneath the canopy of the Brunel designed station contrast with the surrounding gloom. On this occasion the Met Office had got the forecast absolutely right. They said it would start raining around 09:00, and that is exactly what it did, but by that time I was on the way home!
