In preparation for the forthcoming electrification, many year's worth of vegetation has been cleared from alongside the Great Western Mainline. One location that has benefited is Challow, with the field just to the east of the station site also receiving a new (and surprisingly photographer friendly) fence. On 2 January 2014, I decided to take a broadside picture of one of the UK's finest and most successful trains - the HST, which has plied this route for nearly four decades. 43126 heads eastwards with the 1L36 08:31 Cheltenham to Paddington First Great Western service. |
