43126 City of Bristol speeds through the remnants of Shrivenham station on 7 July 1985 with the 1A31 07:50 Swansea to Paddington service. This view has altered slightly in the past quarter of a century (that makes me feel old!). The Victoria pub on the right is now the Fat Dog restaurant, the tall Scots Pine tree in the background has gone, and clump of conifers now fills in the gap in the bushes. Surprisingly however, the two platform faces seen here still survive, although there is now the inevitable palisade fencing all around. |
