43127 arrives at Swindon under a cloudless sky on 15 July 1989 with the 1A31 10:40 Bristol Temple Meads to Paddington InterCity service. 43127 had been in traffic exactly ten years when this picture was taken, but even the most optimistic observer in 1989 would probably not have predicted that it would still be in front line service 26 years later! It was already on its second livery, although still branded as 'Intercity 125'.
