For the Npower League 2 football match between Oxford and Swindon on 21 August 2011, First Great Western ran a special train between the two places, using the normally freight only West Curve at Didcot. Although I doubt whether any of those on board have appreciated the rare passenger mileage, 43128 is pictured at Foxhall Junction in the drizzle leading the 11:23 Oxford to Swindon special off the curve onto the bi-directional relief line, with the rear power car (43160) still just coming off the curve. Oxford won the game 2-1. |
