Combe station, on the Cotswold Line was opened by the Great Western Railway (as Combe Halt) on 8 July 1935. This explains the balloons and flags decorating the station exactly 75 years later on 8 July 2010, as 43129 speeds through with the 1P26 06:43 Hereford to Paddington First Great Western service. Normally only one train in each direction calls at this station, but today was different, with a specially arranged stop being made by the 08:22 Paddington to Hereford train. |
