Possibly my last picture of Charlbury station before the reinstatement of double track. 43154 arrives at the station on 26 November 2010 with the late running 1W29 11:22 Paddington to Great Malvern First Great Western service. Unfortunately, the more appropriate 43003 Isambard Kingdom Brunel was not on the front, but on the rear of the train. Just out of sight in the foreground a start has been made on clearing the ground for the second platform. Although the doubling is obviously a good thing, I can't help thinking that from a photographic viewpoint, this classic location is going to be compromised by the new platform. Happily, I have numerous pictures taken over the years here, from the days of the Class 50s onwards.
