In early 2011 double track is being reinstated at this location, but on 17 March 1994 single track is the order of the day as 43161 Reading Evening Post pulls away from Charlbury station with the 1A23 06:55 Hereford to Paddington 'Cathedrals Express' service. Contrary to appearances this photo is taken from the right side of the fence, although nowadays the viewpoint is nothing like as open as this! Unfortunately I have very few pictures of InterCity liveried HSTs on the Cotswold Line, as I was probably ignoring the route a little after the demise of the Class 50s!
