A van crosses the level crossing at Ascott-under-Wychwood directly behind the 1P31 07:10 Hereford to Paddington First Great Western service on 11 August 2012. 43162 is leading in this extreme telephoto view, which emphasises the difference in alignment between the recently re-instated double track in the foreground, and the original in the distance. This view from the Mill Lane bridge used to be a very good photographic vantage point in the 1980s, but latterly became very overgrown. The new double track means things are slightly better, but a very long lens is still needed to clear the foreground bushes. |
