43165 Prince Michael of Kent arrives at Banbury on 2 January 2011 with the 1C09 08:45 Paddington to Plymouth First Great Western service, diverted via the Chiltern Line and Oxford due to engineering work at Reading. Amazingly, two new semaphore signals have been provided at Banbury in order to allow these diverted HSTs to reverse in the station. Although generally a dull day, there was an annoying band of brightness near the horizon which I thought would spoil this picture. However, with considerable work in Photoshop, the result isn't too bad, and I even think the glint effect along the side of the train adds to the picture.
