43168 leads the 07:44 Dundee to Plymouth InterCity service past Croome on 9 April 1983. At this time a lot of HSTs were still carrying their Class 253 (Western) and Class 254 (Eastern) set numbers on the front, as initially BR regarded them as multiple units. They are clearly not, and soon they were correctly listed as locomotives and coaches, making the front numbers redundant.
