43170 leads the 1V10 12:33 Waterloo to Penzance First Great Western service past Potbridge (between Woking and Basingstoke) on 1 January 2011. Diverted away from its normal route due to the engineering blockade at Reading, it provides the very unusual sight of an HST working along the EMU dominated 750V DC electrified former Southern Railway line to the west.
