43171 speeds past the site of Shrivenham station on 3 October 2015 with the 1L42 08:28 Swansea to Paddington GWR service. After surviving unscathed for just over half a century since closure in 1964, the old platforms have finally been breached in order to construct a new road bridge, the footings of which can clearly be seen in the foreground. All this work is in preparation for the much delayed Great Western Mainline electrification.
