No doubt providing inspiration for railway modellers everywhere, a 'train set' size HST leaves Moreton-in-Marsh on 15 June 2008 with the 1Z22 16:58 Worcester Shrub Hill to Hanborough First Great Western service. The Cotswold Line was closed for engineering work south of Hanborough and because the driver of one of the Worcester to Hanborough shuttle diagrams didn't sign Class 166s, a special short HST was made up comprising 43182, 42277, 44059, & 43042. The phenomenal power to weight ratio was apparent here, as the train was traveling appreciably faster than normal at this location, having just started from Moreton-in-Marsh station which is just visible in the background. 43182 is leading. |
