Coronation Class 4-6-2 46233 Duchess of Sutherland passes Oaksey on 10 October 2017 with the Steam Dreams 1Z73 09:06 Southend to Gloucester 'Cathedrals Express' railtour. The loco was working well, and had already made up some time after the much longer than booked stop at Challow. Two things could possibly have gone wrong with this picture. It was a generally very dull day, so I had selected this location on the east side of the line. If the sun had come out (which it did shortly after the train had passed) the lighting would have been completely wrong. Secondly, there was a strong wind from the west, which threatened to blow the smoke down over the train. However, I correctly judged that the trees on the right would stop that happening.
