It's here at last! The passengers on the platform at Charlbury station on 27 August 1983 have had a very long wait for the 1C56 17:07 Paddington to Hereford service, which is seen here arriving, 35 minutes late, hauled by 47123. This sort of delay is normal now on the Cotswold Line, but in the 1980s it was quite unusual. The fact that this is a Class 47/0, rather than the usual Class 47/4 or 50, indicates that this was probably a last minute loco replacement.
