47500 Great Western passes Combe on 30 August 1987 with the 1A67 16:15 Hereford to Paddington service. This location became progressively more overgrown, until a massive clearance by Network Rail opened up the view, making it even more photogenic than this 1980s view. This section of line was singled in 1971, and unfortunately missed out on the recent redoubling of the Cotswold Line, and is therefore still an operational bottleneck. |
