47507 arrives at Oxford station on 27 August 1983 with the 1M88 06:00 Weymouth to Liverpool Lime Street service, which it worked between Reading and Birmingham New Street. The platform canopy on the left predates the station's rebuilding in 1971, and when this photo was taken was the principal remnant of the original Great Western Railway station.
