47512 passes Didcot North Junction on 22 June 1989 with an Ascot race special, believed to be the 18:43 Ascot to Manchester Piccadilly (confirmation anyone?). The water tower and coaling stage in the Great Western Society's Didcot headquarters can be seen in the background, as the Ladygrove housing estate was still just a planner's dream, and was a few years away from swallowing up the field directly behind the locomotive.
