InterCity loco, Network SouthEast coaches. 47515 Night Mail pulls out of Oxford station on Sunday 26 July 1987 with the first train of the day to London, the 1F01 08:45 departure for Paddington. This train was booked for Class 50 haulage, so the mismatched loco is clearly a replacement for an non-available Class 50. Disappointing at the time maybe, but the livery combination, although not at all unique, does make an interesting picture.
