With the remains of the previous week's snowfall still visible beside the track, 47535 University of Leicester passes Beeston Castle on 12 March 1987 with the 1D27 11:16 Crewe to Holyhead service. This was the only occasion that I visited this location, which is down a rough track, at the end of the oddly named Crimes Lane.
