The driver of 47536 piles on the power, as he passes Didcot North Junction on 9 December 1986 with the 1S39 08:34 Poole to Glasgow Central service. The footbridge now links a housing estate on the left to an industrial estate on the right, neither of which were there in 1986. At the time the footpath just linked Didcot to the villages of Appleford and Long Wittenham.
