47538 approaches Oxford on 23 August 1985 with the 1O62 06:02 Derby to Brighton service. This loco was one of the original Western Region named locos, receiving the name Python at Old Oak Common in 1966. The nameplates were removed when the loco received its TOPS number in 1973, and although a new set of plates were cast in the 1980s, these were never applied.
