47543 passes Didcot North Junction on 31 July 1992 with the 1E45 16:30 Swindon to Newcastle Royal Mail vans. The train has just traversed the west curve from Foxhall Junction. At the time this curve was still used extensively by MGR coal trains from the Midlands to Didcot Power Station, but from the following year that traffic mostly ceased, with the opening of the Avonmouth bulk handling terminal.
