With nameplates covered, 47547 & 47587 arrive at Oxford from Old Oak Common on 3 October 1990. The two recently repainted locos were due to be named University of Oxford and Ruskin College Oxford respectively. The ceremony would be performed in Oxford's bay platform by the Right Honourable Lord Jenkins of Hillhead (Oxford University Chancellor) and Dr Stephen Yeo (Principal of Ruskin College).
