The early morning mist has just cleared, revealing Walcot Farm in the background, as 47558 Mayflower arrives at Charlbury on 10 August 1987 with the 1A10 06:04 Hereford to Paddington service. Note the BG full brake at the head of the train, that by this time was becoming more common than the previously used GUV van. 47558 received the name Mayflower in 1982, to commemorate the ship in which the Pilgrim Fathers sailed to America in 1620. |
