With a wave to the children on the footbridge from both the driver and the secondman, 47559 Sir Joshua Reynolds speeds past the site of Ashbury Crossing at Shrivenham on 28 September 1985 with the 1A15 09:25 Cardiff Central to Paddington service. I have deliberately used a wider view here, not only to show the location of the former crossing in the foreground, but to minimise the effect of the early morning fog, which thankfully was just starting to disperse. Apologies for the poor quality of this image, but at the time 35mm Fujichrome film was no match for Kodachrome 64, even the ISO 50 version, as used here.
