47576 King's Lynn on a full set of matching Network SouthEast Mk1 coaches makes a fine sight as it passes Oxford North Junction on 20 July 1990 with the 1F44 17:20 Paddington to Banbury. This loco had recently been transferred to Old Oak Common from Stratford, where of course its King's Lynn name was slightly more appropriate. Not only have loco hauled commuter trains on the Oxford to Banbury route long since been replaced by units, but this location is also now history, as fast growing willow trees now cover the site. |
