The 1G18 14:35 Liverpool Street to King's Lynn Network SouthEast service rounds the curve at Queen Adelaide on 16 April 1988, appropriately hauled by 47576 King's Lynn. Despite the fact that this is taken on a really dull afternoon, I quite like this picture, showing as it does a view that has now completely changed. The tall semaphore signal has long gone, and so has the view of Ely Cathedral on the right, now blocked by the new workshops of the Queen Adelaide Garage. The elderly couple in their garden full of daffodils and aubrieta completes the scene. |
