The County of Essex in the County of Oxford (or Berkshire if you are really old)! With the 3000 year old Uffington White Horse prominent on the hill in the background, 47580 County of Essex runs light engine as 0Z25 Bristol to Paddington, tailing 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe on the 'Bristolian' railtour on 17 April 2010. Obviously following in case of a problem with the steam loco, in the event it was all it could do to keep up with it! After taking the picture of the steam special it was a case of a quick sprint across the old quarry to find a spot with the iconic white horse in the background, then with 1/2000 sec set on the camera, just hope I pressed the shutter at exactly the right moment as the loco flashed across the viewfinder. Luckily I seem to have got it right! |
