47582 County of Norfolk arrives at Bicester North station on 4 May 1990 with the 1G58 18:12 Paddington to Banbury Network SouthEast service. This was the only northbound loco hauled train on the Chiltern Line at this time. By 1990 services had begun to improve, although still a long way behind the superb present day provision. However, during the 1970s and 1980s the line was a real backwater, which presumably explains why this superb Great Western Railway station building survived any drastic 'improvement'. |
